Repurposed LEGO Accessories

If your organization is swimming in LEGO donations, why not let your older teens turn some pieces into wearable art? Repurpose vintage LEGO into a nostalgic DIY workshop by using unique pieces, hot glue, chain and findings.  With so many colors and shapes, your teens will be able to make all sorts of cool earrings, rings, key chains, necklaces and cuff links.  These LEGO accessories also make for a great fundraiser idea.

What you'll need:
LEGO pieces
Hot glue gun (or crazy glue w/ adult supervision)
Drill with a small bit (for making small holes)
chain
jump rings
findings (earring hooks, ring bases, cuff links etc.)

***I've been asked where to get "heart" shaped LEGO bits. They are called "LEGO Plate Modified 3 x 2 with Hole Part No. 3176 or a Coupling Plate 2X2" You can buy them wholesale from Bricklink vendors

Tutorials:
LEGO earrings
LEGO rings
LEGO heart necklace
Mini-fig necklace
LEGO key chain

  1. It's good to repurpose the items. At least they're recycled.
