UJAM: Music Making for the Rest of Us

UJAM is a new super easy to use online music app that allows people to compose, produce, and publish their own music. Backed music giants Pharrell and Hans Zimmer, UJAM created quite a buzz at the recent TechCrunch Disrupt Conference and is slated to be the next big UGC maker.  Users simply hum, sing, or play a few notes into their computer mic, and UJAM's software will convert the data into a piece of music. Once the ditty is recorded, users can select their tune to be played back in a variety of ways - with a plethora of instruments and genres to select from.

The software is still in closed beta mode, but will be opening to the public this fall. Those working on digital media projects with youth, can sign up now to be notified when the site open beta goes live.  I think we're going to see some really awesome user generated content springing out of these digital composition apps.  Very excited.
